The Centre for Cyber Security was established in April 2022 as an autonomous research centre under Anna University. Its focus is to excel in research and provide academic excellence in the area of cyber security. The Centre for Cyber Security collaborates with the industry to take up consultancy and projects with the industry, offers value-added courses and training in the area of cyber security to improve the employability skills of students, and strives to discover security vulnerabilities and prevent hacking. The primary research and education focus include establishment of state-of-the art laboratories in the areas of vulnerability testing and cyber forensics, creation of opportunities to pursue research and development in the area of cyber security, identification and provision of solutions to cybersecurity related problems faced by the industry and the society, skill development courses in the area of cyber security to improve the employability of students, certifications in the area of cyber security for both the industry and academia, and conduct of training programmes / short-term courses to government officials / various stakeholders. The key research fields are security for AI/ML, mitigation of evasion attacks / adversarial attacks, security and interpretability, vulnerability assessment, security in 5G / 6G / next generation networks and privacy preservation.
